Four People Shot at Howe Community Park Sacramento - Unauthorized Event Results in Shooting
Late Saturday evening, an unlawful gathering of a large crowd at Howe Community Park in Sacramento in the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento became the scene of a shooting when between 20 and 25 shots filled the air as Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputies were working to clearing the crowd.
How Events Unfolded
Shortly after 6:30 PM, the SCSO was alerted concerning persons reportedly carrying concealed firearms at Howe Community Park. Another caller indicated a potential physical confrontation and people running from the area.
A sheriff's helicopter was dispatched and scanned the park but found no evidence of the reported fight.
At the same time, an estimated several hundred attendees had collected at the park for what law enforcement classified as an unlawful gathering. Officers surrounded the park, activated their vehicle emergency lights, and gave the crowd approximately 15 minutes instructing attendees to vacate the area over their vehicle speakers.
While deputies were dispersing the crowd, between 20 and 25 shots were discharged — sending the crowd scattering in every direction.
The Injured
Four people — a woman and three men, ranging in age through their Sacramento park shooting 2026 20s — were transported to area hospitals. Two of the victims had serious injuries, one was classified with moderate injuries, and one victim sustained minor injuries. All four were listed as stable. Sacramento Metro Fire responded and assisted with triage at the incident scene.
What Was Found at the Scene
The shooting was centered on the Cottage Way side of the park alongside the Home Depot store at the 2200 block website of Howe Avenue in Sacramento. The nearby Home Depot was placed under temporary lockdown. Additional spent casings were located on Cottage Way, with rounds lodged found in the metal fence surrounding the Home Depot — indicating a shooter firing south from along Cottage Way toward the store. Crime scene investigators and detectives combed the scene for evidence throughout the night.
Suspects
According to scanner audio, it was revealed that a suspect vehicle — a Kia — was stopped in Solano County with four individuals detained. Sheriff's deputies were sent to transport the suspects back check here and return them to Sacramento County for questioning. Video analysis more info confirmed two separate shooters.
